Freeman Butts spent a great part of his 50-year career painting the female form. These works testify to Butt's ability to merge a figurative style with abstraction. His work is honest about working with live models and demonstrates his authority on the use of fluidity of line in both figurative work and landscapes. Freeman and his wife Daisy would often feed his models dinner and often were good friends.
